My second renewal just processed automatically after the first renewal was manual. I've had a card (privacy.com) on file since activation. Let's hope it continues automatically from here out.
I decided to add a credit card that I know is going to become invalid soon - my GM Card, which just switched from Capital One to Marcus/Goldman Sachs. My current CC number will become invalid after Marcus issues me a new card.
Here's the setting Freedompop sent me: For Androids

I just activated 2 of these Walmart FreedomPop lines. It appears there is no option to turn on/off auto top-up. Is this correct or is it hidden somewhere? I just want to make sure the auto top-up is turned OFF if there is such an option. Thanks!
Not true. You have to add a payment method in order for it to 'auto top-up'. If you don''t there is not a way to add more manually. The verbage on their website about 'adding manually' has to do with the non Walmart AT&T Freedom Pop plan. This was told to me by one of the customer service reps when I tried to update manually after the first month.
I don't see any auto top-up of minutes/text/data even with a payment method on the Walmart plan, which is what this thread is about. Still manual add only. I think you are talking about auto renewal, which does require a payment method.
Auto top-up would charge for additional minutes/texts/data if a bucket got to zero from usage. The old FreedomPop plans were notorious for this and most would disable it by temporarily upgrading to their more premium option, switching it off, then downgrading to the original plan. This plan does not suffer from that, nor does it offer the function that I can find. You have to manually purchase mins/text/data if you run out.
This is odd. Even though they "charged" me 40 cents for the 911 fee, they never charged that amount on my credit card on file with them. So they said the monthly charge was zero plus 40 cents for 911 but 4 days later still no charge on my credit card.....
The glitch I experienced during the first two months seems to have cleared up. I was able to add a CC and my plan autorenewed as expected, without any charges.
I'm also finding that my daughter's smartwatch only uses about 1-1.5mb/day. So, this is a perfect plan for that particular need and I won't be needing to get Optimum's 1gb plan for $20 for the first year.
Anyone on this plan with a moto phone, especially an e6, I'd appreciate your help by giving any feedback.
If you missed a call while the phone was off, in airplane mode or in 0 signal area do you get missed call notifications when you turn it on, come out of airplane mode or return to a signal area?
