Thank alexdm from Tello. Apparently, he's posting on this forum pretending to be a customer. haha
I can't try it again until my port in finishes. The first time I tried it was when I initiated the port in. I don't think I can try again until it finishes, can I?
It's been known to happen elsewhere as well.
In any case, he is probably a customer as well, so technically not pretending to be one.
But I don't know why he didn't just announce himself as a Tello employee to begin with. That would have been a good bit of PR and shown that Tello was interested in R+ refugees.

That's what those First Command Financial Advisors (actually sales rep) claim to be.
Yeah, getting ousted/flagged by hungryghost as a Tello employee is definitely a huge embarrassment for the company. Plus, makes me have second thoughts about the company. I'm serious.
What happened with alexdm?
He posted the $10 code and I passed it onto ringplus social. Lots of people benefitted.
He didn't claim not to be an employee as far as I recall but maybe some posts were deleted?
Sad thing is Tello doesn't need to do anything like that as there are thousands with them now from ringplus and their rates are hard to beat. Reasonable promos too.
the cellnuvo ceo made an appearance here and seems like a striaghtforward guy. Refreshing. I have 560 minutes for free in less than a week - would have cost nearly $20 at Tello. Seems to be the new r+ for those wanting free service!

Really? A single lapse in judgement from a single employee shakes your confidence in an entire company that much?
It's a wonder you made it through a month with R+.
Tello were kind enough to give me a $10 paygo credit even though my port completed last week.
They did the same for me a couple days ago and told me they were doing it as a courtesy:

But yesterday, the coupon started working directly on existing paygo accounts with no need to contact Tello.

The coupon also worked to start a new paygo line with a BYOD device a couple days ago, not a ported device.
And it worked directly on Friday to apply a paygo balance to an exiting "plan" that had a $0 balance.
So in the end, it was 100% successful everywhere I wanted it. Thank you, Tello!

Oh, OK, if your port is in progress, then that is true. When I tried to use the coupon with a port-in, it went to "failed" immediately. I didn't care about the number, and I didn't want to wait to see if the port would complete later, so I canceled the line on R+, created a new Tello account, and started a new line on Tello using the canceled phone as a BYOD device and got a new number. The coupon allowed me to start a $10 paygo balance - no credit card needed yet because $0 was due.
Hopefully when your port completes, the coupon will still work.
Just tried the $10 credit coupon code today after successfully ported in. But it says "We are sorry, but the coupon you have entered has expired."
The coupon was only good through the 12th. Maybe if enough people tell them that the deadline was extended at RingPlus they will extend the coupon...
Tello tweeted this yesterday:
Just tried it again. Still says expired. It's a no go for me.

With RingPlus I typically got 5-10 Mbps of bandwidth but, since I switched my primary line to Tello, I'm maxing out at 800 kbps.
I'm glad I only moved one line.
Hmmm, you must be doing something wrong. There's no reason for that to happen. I'm certainly not having problems.
We'll, that's certainly the logical thing-- I must be doing something wrong.
My phone that I use every day drops to 800 kbps after porting to Tello and our phones that are still on RingPlus are getting 7+ Mbps.
I've done multiple PRL and profile updates but it must be something I'm doing.
Because, ya know, it couldn't be Tello.
Have you tried pinging Tello?
Can others test their speed. With low prices, slow speed might make sense.

I'm on Tello pay go, so I turned off wifi and ran just one speed test and got 13.33 Mbps. That's on my LG Tribute HD. That's right inline with what I had gotten with R+.
I have had to do multiple carrier resets on my Moto E in the past with R+ and the other day with Tello because it was showing 3G and never LTE, which never happens normally when I'm at home, only LTE. But after another attempt or two of doing carrier resets on both occassions, the phone came up as LTE and would then always continue to use LTE at home.
RINGPAYG10OFF showing as expired?!?
Where is that Tello rep, alexdm?
