FreeMii

David Here again. Wanted to provide direct updates before the weekend.

To address some questions regarding FreeMii Pricing and comparison, we are putting some of the final pieces in place but with our coming full launch FreeMii shakes out with these benefits:

  1. 299 for 1 year of service or 399 for 2 years
  2. Multi-Line discounts
  3. Free Sim and 30-day Trial
  4. DataPro, DataPro+, and DataMax(For Tablets/wearables) Memberships rolling out soon with our launch. Device bundles too.
  5. Better than Mint - Mint is yearly 300$ for 15gig/mth - they do promos to save 50% but only on the 1st 6 months or so - and they are tied to TMO only - great service though from what i hear - nasty thread on reddit about number cloning though
  6. Better than Visible - Visible is yearly 300$ for "unlimited" - good service here too. -owned by verizon - with us you can swap between networks anytime - unlimited never means infinite consumption - for FreeMii - unlimited means no preset caps on data - we have threshold then we can refill your bucket at anytime in the month. Need more get more. And your subscription is not tied to wireless billing - Perks of membership.

FreeMii isnt designed as a cheaper option. Just for those who want a different experience. Hopes this helps to clarify.

Now, Thank you all for your patience and feedback during this week's debacle. Migration Updates are as follows:

  1. We have shipped and reshipped at least 1 new Blue sim to all FreeMii members with previous service on the Blue Network.
  2. Unfortunately, our the carriers migration is continuing to take much longer than we were originally given. As an additional solution we provided activation on the Pink network as an option for those who preferred.
  3. If you have not received a Pink sim as a temporary option, this was due to your prioritization in shipping cue. Essentially, because your re-ship order was prioritized, it was shipped before we even implemented the temporary Pink sim as an option. However, those who did not receive a Pink sim and have contacted support were also re-shipped a Pink sim this week.
  4. We are still waiting for he carrier to complete migrations - we have approximately 250 more lines to migrate (I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience - i dont take this lightly - but i have even worse news)
  5. We have been informed approximately 20 MDNs( mobile device/directory numbers) have been lost in the recovery during migration. This is the worst offense that could happen. I'm pissed about it but we have a plan to recover them still. No guarantee but it will take some time. We will contact those affected (including myself) by email to discuss next steps and consolation.
  6. For all other Members previously serviced on FreeMii supported Blue network, your migration can be completed in the next few minutes through the next few days. As of now the updated timeline internally is Wed. Jan 12th but this could be delayed further.
  7. If you have a Pink sim and elected a temp new line then you were set with the 9-12 gig threshold - we can reset if necessary - for those who elected for permanent new line you were set with our standard DataPlus 20-22gig threshold.
  8. We’ll continue to reassess the situation through the weekend but only temp or permanent new activations are likely to occur as we have to wait for the carrier to fix all things migration.

Thank you all again for your interest in FreeMii.
Hit us up if theres anything else.

Have a great weekend.

Be safe.

I know. Just trying to post it in an easier to read format.

I just noticed that their information has updated and this isn't as bad as I remember it. I'm wondering if one piece of it is backwards, though.

https://freemii.com/restrictions

It seems odd to me that an active internal swap (new SIM for new device, same carrier) would be cheaper than if the SIM were active, but changing networks would be cheaper if the service is inactive. So I'm wondering if those two are backward. But I am almost positive those prices are lower than what I'd found before. It's probably been posted somewhere up-thread if I had the patience to go look.

Since I got in on the lifetime pricing, basically those fees right there and whatever frequency I choose on which to upgrade my main device are what FreeMii costs me, starting at what I consider my break-even point around the end of 2024 and going until something ends that customer relationship (such as if I move to another planet where FreeMii has no roaming coverage, for example).

Hi. Can you explain your reasoning on how FreeMii is better than Visible? Visible actually is unlimited, albeit deprioritized. But your Red service is depri as well. Your Red service is also capped at 5 Mbps down, 2 Mbps up and doesn't include hotspot. Visible isn't capped like that for on device data.
Also, anyone who bought when this was a one-time purchase option, we keep our plan and don't need to pay/make changes right?

#7 As someone who spent the last year on the pink sim always hitting the 8-10gb limit and having to get the data uncapped each month - it isn't a seamless process. Data stops altogether and it meant days of lost data service.

I was supposed to have been upgraded to this 20gb data plus thing but that never worked. So unless things have changed the pink sim needs work. I'm going to try to push it to 20gb this month to see if it has changed in 2022. Fingers crossed.

Visible won't work well for everyone. If you talk a lot you'd appreciate the more stable connections from a verizon mvno. And the data speeds can slow down even more than usual verizon deprioritisation due to visible's custom routing. But I don't see freemii as being better than several other verizon mvnos like us mobile.

I'm not complaining though as an early adopter. It was great value for me despite the kinks. I just think if freemii want to seriously grow and offer service for $300 they need to fix a lot of these lingering issues and look more carefully at what the competition offers.

with $25/per month.... Freemii is not a good option

minus points of Freemii:

  1. Swapping sim option should be provided like other providers.... we cannot wait for new sim when mobile is broken.
  2. WIFI calling and mobile Hotspot should be provided on PINK, BLUE and RED networks like other providers.
  3. International calling should be provided like other MVNO's.... this option will attract lot of customers.
  4. Average data usage is less than 5 GB, so speeds can be reduced after 5 GB usage.
  5. Customer care should be improved.
  6. Blue migration issues should be handled in much more smoother manner.... phone number has lot of dependencies ( school, work, crypto etc )

With blue migration mess... we cannot recommend Freemii to friends until they improve

I got email - FreeMii Blue Migration Completed

my services are restored and working fine... Thanks Freemii

When did you fill out the migration form?

I did mine on the 7th so it should be soon.

Anyone notice that the migration form is tagged as "TeleCloud Migration Request"?
To quote a friend, "What up wit dat?"

The item as listed in the shipping information for me is "Blue Active Internal Swap." If you look at the Restrictions link I posted earlier, that appears to be what they call the SIM replacement process for switching devices or networks. "TeleCloud Migration Request" seems a fairly likely name for a process that involves some sort of transfer and might or might not involve switching carriers. My guess is that the way they came up with to handle the migrations was to provide what is effectively the equivalent of either a device swap within the blue network or a device-and-carrier swap to pink. It does kind of make sense that if they already had built/were building a process that involves sending out new SIM cards, and then something caused them to need to send out new SIM cards, basically firing off something based on that process for all affected users might be simpler than trying to handle it with a completely unplanned and unprecedented workflow.

I unfortunately filled mine on the 2nd, and still nothing. Not sure if they are following some kind of order when the forms are received. Been out of service since last Tuesday at around noon.

Are they saying that all the migration will be done by Friday, or yours specifically?

I've been without blue service since the 4th. Got my new sim the 5th, still awaiting migration. My temp pink sim arrives later today.

For those who have activated a temp pink sim, how long did it take?
