FreeMii

I had the impression that they started offering the temporary activation or permanent switch to Pink options specifically because it was taking longer to perform the blue-to-blue migrations upstream than originally expected.

Well, I initially went to the original form linked in the first email, which doesn't mention the pink SIM, and because what I thought was probably just the first page of the form (and was actually the only page) didn't mention the pink SIM, I went ahead and filled out that much, thinking maybe picking which course of action to take was on a subsequent page or handled another way - in either case, expecting to see exactly what the options were and how to proceed, and then decide what to do or whether to put off the decision a day or two. Partly because in the meantime, I also tested another SIM I had handy and discovered that I may actually have better signal on the pink network at my house.

So now I have what might be interpreted as a completed submission of "wait for the blue network migration to complete," which for all I know might be completed as soon as tomorrow; presumably if I go ahead and submit the other form with one of the other two options, that might override the request...but now I don't think I will be sure whether I'd rather make a permanent switch until late tomorrow or possibly this weekend, by which time it's possible action will be taken on the first form and I'll miss my chance.

...Granted, it's fantastic service either way, so at least there's that. But it's moments like this I regret signing up using an email address I cannot send from. I haven't figured out how to get the Intercom chat bot to take me to a state where I can actually say something as specific as "please don't act on my original form submission, I will go back and submit the updated form once I'm sure what I want to do."

I kinda like the sound effects it makes though.

Blue sim has better options like wifi calling and volte

Pink sim support only volte but NO wifi calling

Congrats - it is great that you are happy - all folks should be so fortunate as you:

My distrust of either or both of 'unlimited' and 'lifetime' offers comes from experiences honestly acquired, similarly to what the OP of this thread expressed=>

And aside of the above - with our very limited budget handing away even $149 for any sorts of lofty promises is far more risky than getting exactly what we need for less from a company which has never let us down.

If they stay viable - get many good reviews here & elsewhere AND at some point revive that deal for some chosen AT&T or VZ based services - I may reconsider - but at the higher prices now listed ??
No way - unless we magically inherit megabux from some long lost relation !!

A Happy 2022 to All !!

At the current price point - $299/yr ($25/mo) - just go with Visible (as long at the VZ network works for you).

Yeah I wouldn’t really recommend this at the current $299/year. That’s insane, especially considering it’s not even unlimited. But the blue service has been good before this and it was def worth the $149 or $179 one time payment

yeah when I did the original form there was no mention of pink sim either. Was just asking for iccid of new sim and number

Link is broken........needs to not include the word 'The' after 'Db'.

If everything is working properly on FreeMi, the current pricing isn't all that bad, and it's more or less competitive if not cheap. (Source: PrepaidCompare's plan finder, with 16GB per month shows starting points at $25/mo.) The things that make FreeMii less attractive than some other options at a similar price is the annual payment, and a shorter track record.

It's not really fair to compare FreeMii at $25/mo to the $15 plans from Mint or Hello Mobile, since the data caps are much lower than FreeMii. (At least lower than FreeMii is supposed to be, whether or not that's reliable.). That said, for me personally, any plan with 2GB/mo or more is pretty much "equivalent", since I don't anticipate needing more, and I can certainly find that much cheaper (and with lower perceived risk) elsewhere..

At $150-$180 for 'lifetime', it probably would have been a smart move for me, and might have even worked out from FreeMii's perspective, since I don't use much data.

What I'd love to find somewhere: an annual plan like Tracfone'rollover/annual plan, but with higher annual allotments. An annual plan with 6000 minutes/texts, and maybe 20GB of data would be great. .

Does FreeMi still inhibit you from swapping SIM cards from phone to phone? If I recall correctly, FreeMi makes you pay for a new SIM when you want to change phones. That's a non-starter for me, and makes the fixed lifetime cost deceptive.

It's the same reason why I will never use Metro as my main carrier and why I never liked using Sprint. I value the ability to instantly change the SIM card from one phone to another without any hassle.

My temporary number on the pink network is up and running. Within minutes of filling out the form. Still waiting on the blue sim migration. The correct link that FreeMii Customer Care Team was attempting to post is: NativeForms

Found out why I didn't get notified when they sent the new SIM...text message sent to my number which had lost provision. (Not a complaint, just kinda funny.)

Edit: Also just found an email that Google nicely tucked away in the "Promotions" folder.

my sim migration completed.... outgoing calls and data is working but NO incoming calls :frowning:

I was one of the unlucky ones that only received the blue Sim for the swap, no pink sim was enclosed. I filled out the migration form on Wed. It's now Friday and I'm still waiting for it to process. My mother has a freemii membership also. She will be receiving her SIM replacement later today it's out for delivery today. Hopefully there will be a pink sim enclosed in the big envelop. I was thinking it might be easier to just switch my mom to the pink sim plan instead of waiting days for the blue migration.
Does anyone know the data limit cut off for the pink plan? The Blue data limit is like 20 gigs I think.

The Sprint system never bothered me much: I'd get a SIM for a phone, one time, and take the phone+SIM anywhere I liked on the Sprint network: and switching between phones was usually self-service & nearly instantaneous. For my use, that was better than having to get a new SIM card each time I changed providers.
