CellNUVO

Unless I'm mistaken, there are NO success reports re the 50 Thank You Message credits per day. Have people forgotten that was one of the things they were promised, or what?

Anybody get 50 credits without doing anything except maybe checking the freaking app?

P.S. When this thread started cellnuvo.com said 60 credits per Thank You Message but now the same website says 50. A 17% reduction is significant, but nobody even getting them is really significant.

I've not gotten the 60/50 Thank you Message credits per day...unless that's what those Kiip Awards are. They pop up about once an hour, usually back-to-back so that's about 10 credits per hour...easily more than the 60/50 Thank You Messages...

So I guess while you're right it doesn't necessarily seem to be exactly as advertised, they also dropped the requirement to earn 2,500+ credits/month and the Kiip Awards come out to more than the 60/50/day.

Dropping the requirement to earn 2500 credits/month, sorry, has most folks terribly confused.

Suppose you're an extremely light user who only needs 150 voice 150 text 0 MB a month. You need 1650 credits/month ANYWAY, so they've effectively only changed the requirement from 2500 to 1650. Yes, they're throwing you a bone but it's not a 2500 credit bone, it's a 850 credit bone LOL.

With the previous promise, all those 1650 credits would be there automatically.

"With the previous promise, all those 1650 credits would be there automatically." is in reference to CELLNUVO not ringplus. And not that it's important now, but ringplus didn't go out of business quickly. I used it for 36 months continuously.

If you want to have service on a phone, but won't be using the phone, then CellNuvo looks absolutely wonderful! It's probably fine for my specific example too. But the reason I gave a specific example is to illustrate that FOR THAT EXAMPLE, losing Thank You Message credits is a far greater detriment than the benefit of now "just needing 1 credit a month". That's not an opinion, it's simple math.

This thread has value due to all the reviews, and the great folks sharing their specific usage experiences, thank you. It's not up to you to say it doesn't have value when I point out the detriment I did. Somebody other than you, shopping for service right now, wouldn't know about the detriment from reading cellnuvo.com cuz it still has the apparently incorrect info re Thank You Messages. Just stating facts here.

Does anyone know if you can use not used (unlocked) Verizon Iphones (4) on cellnuvo?

Is there a way to check the Meid number without joining cellnuvo?

iPhones won't work cuz the app isn't in the Apple Store</thread needs a WIKI>

What activities earn credit on CellNuvo and how difficult is it to earn, say, 500 minutes and 500 MB per month?

fun times

Joseph,

Since texts are 1 credit and min/MBs are 10 credits, you'll need 500 min + 500 MB = 1,000 * 10 credits = 10,000 credits monthly.

As of now, you can earn ~ 10 credits every hour or two just be interacting with their app and earning these "Kiip awards". Additionally a random video ad will pop up here or there earning you another 15 credits each (I get maybe 2-3 a day). They'll randomly throw a survey out there earning another 15 credits. Then you can interact with their other ad opportunities like download an apps, fill out other surveys, buy stuff etc to earn anywhere from 10-hundreds of additional points.

Their CEO, Tom, has been on this forum and indicated they were updating their app soon with new earning opportunities. Will be interested to see what changes.

I've been on CellNuvo for about a week and a half and have earned 1,500 credits doing a tad above the bare minimum. I check every hour or two to get those Kiip awards, have caught a few video ads here or there, taken 2-3 surveys that popped up. In addition to that, I downloaded a few of the game aps for anywhere from 10-40 credits...then deleted them after earning my credits.

With my approach, earning 10,000 credits to support your 500 min, 500 MB would be tough. But others here are earning close to 3,000 credits a week...so doable, but you'd have to be more proactive.

For me, this is a trial. I plan to use as a backup phone or a car phone, but may consider it more seriously if it can support my usage.

Others may have more to add, but hope that helps.

So my family member was right: 1 minute of 'work' = 1 minute talk. Well, that makes this too rich for my blood. Looks like I'll be looking at Tello PAYG as my data backup.

Do CellNuvo credits expire or once you earn it your service remains active indefinitely until you use it up?

They say your credits never expire...but since I've only been with them a week and a half, the validity of that is to be determined...

Note that when you sign up, they give you 2,500 credits to start w/ for free. However, you have to maintain a 500 credit minimum balance. So think of it like like they give you 200 min/MB for free, and you have to earn from there.

As Tardis mentioned, earning sufficient credits to support your usage needs may be too much work for some.

Yeah...maybe my demographic or answers are not prompting enough surveys. I've only been presented with 4-5 surveys and after the initial questions, it only sent me forward to complete 2 of them.

i agree. If you are a heavy user, you will need to purchase points or go with another service.....the nice thing is that your points never expire, so if you use less points one month, they will carry over.

So you can have 1000 points, and not earn any more points, stick the phone in a draw and it'll remain active indefinitely?

Current requirement is to earn 1 credit/month, so you'd have to take it out at least once a month and earn yourself a few free Kiip credits. But otherwise, yes.

If that was the actual goal, and not just a theoretical question, I'd probably just buy $5 Tello pay as you go credit instead, and just set a calendar reminder to check usage (needs to be used every 6 months to stay active). Nothing against CellNuvo, but I could see their requirements shifting more than Tello.

If you forget to earn credit, will they deactivate your account? If so, can I file a chargeback of $0? :stuck_out_tongue:

I went to visit a zoo with a group of friends a while ago and we were all struck by the difference in the behavior of the zoo animals, regardless of type and the wild animals (primarily squirrels) just outside the zoo's fences.

All the zoo animals looked very passive and not terribly interested in doing anything other than taking it easy. Meanwhile, the squirrels never stopped moving. Guess the difference was based on whether one is being fed or needs to find one's own food.

In the case of CellNUVO perhaps it comes down to growing your own tomatoes as opposed to buying them. Growing them is a fun hobby but if you want a regular supply of tomatoes when you actually need them, it probably makes more sense to just buy them.
