Pretty interesting from Visible:

the visible byod $200 and 2for22 has been extended for 1 day due to all fhe technical issues today. Now ends 11.59pm.est on the 3rd

Mind saying where you are seeing this if on Visible site? Would like to confirm & screenshot before activating a sim to create a port in #.

->Anyone know if you can do/stack the free phone for port in + $200 gift card for port in + 2for22 promo? The BestMVNO article sort of implies that you can.-> NO, as far as I can tell the $200 is for BYOD or qualifying device which the free swap phones are not. Looks like you could get this deal with a pixel 6 for $400 + service charges of $47 for 3 mo.

I was hoping maybe they'd announce that they will offer again on 02/22/22

I am thinking of getting this, but have a couple questions as I have been away from the action for some time now:

  1. Is this cellular service on T-Mobile network, or voip service?
  2. Do I have to call and text through the Textnow app, or can I use the native Dialer and Messages?
  3. Most importantly, is there a possibility of losing my number due to inactivity?

Thank you for all help and info.

P.S. Could use this shortened link without trackers - https://www.textnow.com/wireless/checkout?plan_id=57&product_id=392

  1. VOIP via t-mo cellular data or wifi.
  2. Must use app except native dialer on some android phones may "work" in that they can put you through the app dialer. No idea if it acts that way on iPhone, no experience there
  3. Yes, typically 2 weeks, maybe a month, usually get a warning text but no guarantee.

Thanks for the info, redrotors.

Regarding losing a number due to inactivity -

So porting in a number is out of question then.

What happens if there's no activity and the number is lost - can I re-activate the same SIM and get a new number? Or will I have to order a new SIM and start over? TIA.

Haven't done it but my understanding is that you can get a new # assigned, no need for a new SIM.

You could port a # in IF you want to consider paying TN $5/yr. for a number lock, this also is supposed to allow the # to work for more verification texts than the totally free # account.

Target has Ting SIM with $30 airtime credit for $1.

YMMV
Many stores in my area show limited stock.

Free year of Paramount+ for T-Mobile postpaid customers:

Bunch of reports on SD & Reddit re accounts/lines cancelled and denied ability to get port out information.

Never had any trouble with them.

Hard to know what to believe. There are a lot just trying to make a quick buck and probably got found out and some who got caught up in the culling when they are real customers. Probably those who signed up for a large number of lines are getting canceled.

Just don't get greedy and you should be fine. Though byod is not included now. The a3 prime only costs $50 and comes with a $200 card. Slickdeals has figured that out too so only a matter of time before those are out of stock.

To further clarify, Visible is offering $200 GCs on every phone in their inventory, but only today. You need to keep the service for 3 months.

Also don't forget about $15 CB on Rakuten

Hm... I did buy a lot of tuna from Costco as emergency stash in 2014...

Hard to believe, but I've never kept a running total of tuna purchases.... My loss.
