FreeMii

Morning Nthers!
David Here - From FreeMii.
I know Monika from support has jumped in to assist as she's able. Thought I'd jump in to help.

So big snafu with our Blue Network. The carrier did an update impacting our agreement and forcing us to migrate all Blue Network members to the new agreement. Unfortunately, this update took place Christmas Eve with no notice. We were informed service would continue until each of our members with Blue Network service were individually migrated. We were also informed migration would take 1-2 days max. Some of our members on Blue Network have experienced service disruption (including myself.) Frustrating I know. Big carriers have legacy systems. Overpromise, under deliver. We're going the opposite. Over promise. Then still over deliver.

We have no discretion regarding when or if a line experiences service disruption. Our number 1 priority is making sure not Phone numbers are lost in the shuffle. We are confirming status of each line almost hourly. We're good on that end. We've been assured no numbers will be lost. 2nd. The migration is taking way longer than expected. We've done our part all we can do is wait. As a solution. We are shipping all Blue Network Members - a Pink Network Sim and a Blue Network Sim.

The Three Options are -

  1. We will ship Pink Sim & Blue Sim -You will Get a new TEMPORARY number issued on Pink Network. With local area code. Once migration on Blue network is complete your Permanent number will be re-activated on blue network sim for use.

  2. We will ship Pink Sim & Blue Sim - You will get new PERMANENT number issued on Pink Network. With local area code Immediately for use.

  3. We will ship Pink Sim & Blue Sim - You may wait with service disruption until your Blue Network Migration is Complete.

This is why we've been adamant about supporting multiple networks. And this is more evidence change in the industry is necessary.

Regarding shipments that have already gone out, Please contact support directly as we are not aware of shipping/delivery delays. Please provide your tracking number when you contact support.

Also, there should have been no loss of service for our Pink and Red networks. If so, this is an individual occurrence. Please contact Support immediately.

Aside from this Happy New Year! I hope you all are staying safe. And thank you for your interest in FreeMii.

We have DataPro rolling out, upgrades to DataPlus, and DataMax for Tablets&Wearables. Exciting Q1 for us. Stay Tuned!

Hey, thanks for reaching out. Appreciate the pink temp SIM, although it won't really do me much good here, but that's OK. I added my wife's number to my GV list, so I'm good, for now. I read where some members got an email when the SIM was sent...will we get that? And, finally, any idea of time frame til all the dust settles?

Thanks so much for stopping in with an update, David! I know the FreeMii subscribers here really appreciate it.

Mini update: my SIM shipment finally made it out of Chicago last night, and is reported as delivered to my house as of an hour ago. (I think USPS was just really bad at scanning it as it traveled through the system since tracking said it had been in Chicago since 12/31.) Have to wait until I get out of work to see what I got and if it can be activated, etc.

Keep you guys posted.

heard.... we can swap device with new blue sim

Technically: yes. We can add your new IMEI once the migration is complete. This must be followed up by the members once they receive the "all good" email notification on the successful migration.

We know that using unregistered IMEIs result in suspended accounts & no service as a worst case scenario, in the past we always had the MDNs re-activated.

We focus on migrating every member with an MDN on the Blue Network and offer a temp new MDN on the Pink network for the duration of the migration.

Got my Blue SIM yesterday. Same FreeMii branding for whoever was wondering.

It was basically ready to go as soon as I popped it in and turned on the phone after completing the migration from the link in the email. Still 4G LTE.

Interestingly, when I was on pink aka T-mobile it was 5G. And not the fake "5Ge" my phone shows on AT&T for their LTE-A.

Thanks for the updates. BTW--Whats's an MDN?

Just wanted to mention, I received my new Blue sim on Jan. 3rd, but there was no Pink sim sent, so no options other than to wait until Blue migration is complete. Also, have had no service whatsoever since I noticed my phone not working early yesterday morning.

Re swapping phones with new Blue sim. Will members have to pay for this swap to a new device? I was thinking of swapping devices, since come Feb. 1, 2022, according to the AT&T list of phones posted on the FreeMii website that will work on the AT&T network after 3G is shutdown in Feb., my current FreeMii phone won't work properly because it isn't on the compatibility list, which likely means I will be forced to use a device on AT&T's list. I assume FreeMii posted this AT&T list within its chat box to inform members of next month's big change, although there is no warning that one must have a compatible AT&T phone by February. So, apparently, if one's phone will not work on AT&T next month, it would seem prudent to do a device swap now rather than later. Thus, two questions: If we do a device swap now, will we be charged, and if we are forced to do a device swap after 3G shuts down, will be charged? Thanks.

Below are two AT&T after 3G lists.

You should have gotten an email that has a link to complete the migration. Mine was titled "URGENT NOTICE - FreeMii BLUE Member Update." I competed that with the blue sim they sent and got service back.

The shipping of SIM cards happens in batches, grouped by networks they are made for.

If members contact support@freemii.com with the new IMEI within a week after they receive the email on successful migration, we're happy to manually activate - free of charge - the new phones as a Thank you for your patience.

We know that this migration may be frustrating for a few members, but we're working hard on providing steady and reliable service.

I got the "Urgent" message:

[]We will ship your new Blue Network SIM card at no cost.
[
]When you receive your new SIM card please complete our Blue Migration Form with your new SIM card ICCID.
[*]We will notify you when the migration process is complete. At that time you may install your new SIM card into your device.

Completed and submitted migration form, but was never notified that migration was complete, at which time I could then install the new sim card. Did you @Kelras get an email notification that migration was complete before inserting your new sim card?

When the migration is complete, you'll receive an email notification. Unfortunately, it may take 48 to 72 hours for the number transfer process to complete, during this time you may experience service interruption. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Can we insert new SIM in new device after submitting Blue Migration Form ?

Mobile Directory Number

More data points: Alert last Thursday; shipment info this afternoon...mine's got UPS tracking (Next Day Air Saver), not USPS, and as of a few minutes ago the label's been created but they don't report it being on the way yet.

Mine same... UPS label created only.Yet to ship

@Isamorph
I just popped the sim in right after filling out the form. Took a few seconds and a text message arrived saying Welcome to FreeMii. I didn't get an email about migration say it was complete.

Odd, but maybe others will experience the same without having to wait for the go ahead email from FreeMii.

MDN is an acronym for Mobile Directory Number (industry term for mobile telephone number).
