Mine are all from Target if that matters.
It may matter as the FreedomPop GSMT (T-Mobile) vs. GSMA (AT&T) based free plans ui historically has at times appeared or behaved differently.
Has been outlined earlier in this thread a few times but I'll reiterate for clarity -
FP via Walmart offered -
GSMT 300 min/1000 msg/100mb - no longer offered
FP via Target only at first & more recently Walmart offer -
GSMA 100/100/100
I have the GSMT SIM and looks like my automatic renewal on the free plan is back, after updating my credit card on file.
GSMT line I manage also looks good. Everything green, no red anywhere, auto renewal subscribed etc.
We'll see, based on the last couple months & being FP I'm not very optimistic that it will automatically renew.
Has anyone successfully switch their FreedomPop psim to esim?
In addition to the HF thread I linked to in a post above 9 days ago here is another with some current reports.
Apparently the app is supposed to possibly serve you an ad to watch before you can hit the renew button according to some report.
In case anyone has a use for this info...
I set up automatic reminder emails for both my GSMA lines at:
I've used that (free) for years & thus far it has never failed me.
Another I've used is:
I still have an account there but haven't used it for a while.
Hopefully this info is useful for some folks here.
I still have the GSMT freedompop sim that has 300 min 1000 txt and 100 mgs
I just renewed mine. 300,1000, 100 free plan with GSMT and I didn't have to watch any ad.
Privacy dot com gives you free "virtual credit cards" that you can set limits on. I've used them for years. Very useful. You can set a Max per day per month per year. Or set up "one time use" Its great. ( by free I mean the service is free, they don't give free money)
Renewed via FP website page or on the FP app?
I have an account at privacy for VCCs.
Someone has tried to make charges against my 1, closed card there lots & lots of times.
This repeatedly triggers decline emails.
My confidence in that service has seriously declined due to this attempted fraud - which makes me think that cybercriminals somehow got that very old card info somehow.
I want the attempts AND emails to stop - but their support is unresponsive.
I've even tried finding competing services, but didn't find any.
And so, if I may paraphrase John Philpot Curran: "The condition upon which FreedomPop hath given free wireless is eternal vigilance".
My GSMT line, which unfortunately is in a backup device I check only rarely, auto-renewed as usual on January 20.
My GSMA line auto-renewed on January 23.
I manually renewed my line on the nearly-useless standard free plan (10/10/10) on February 6.
The Target and Walmart lines did not auto-renew in February.
Unfortunately, I neglected to go check on and renew the useless one again until March 21, at which time I was able to renew the better GSMA line as well...but the GSMT line had progressed to Closed and can no longer be renewed. And I hesitated to try to follow up on it with customer service because I didn't really want to have to deal with splitting my lines up to separate accounts that weekend to deal with their recent policy changes regarding the number of free lines per account. I suppose I should probably make up my mind before April 20 or so whether I'm just going to drop it. If it were a higher data cap I might care more, but since I text almost exclusively through Google Voice and 20 minutes would be a heavy-usage month for me, it's hard to muster much motivation over it for any reason other than retaining backup access to carrier networks. But it might still be worth it to me for that.
Just renewed my Target 100/100/100. You do have to watch ads. I just closed them and renewed. Had to manually enter the CC info that was previously associated with the account.
Thanks for the data point.
This was in the app?
Did you try FB website first?
It was in the app. On the FP website there is no longer an option to make a payment and automatic payments is inactive.
i renewed it on the webpage
fraiser11, you don't have the plan that is the subject of this thread. Even though in your initial post you have the network wrong. The Target plan is 100/100/100 on GSMA. Walmart also sells this same plan. Yours is the old, no longer available Walmart 300/1000/100 on GSMT.
Target/Walmart GSMA:
Old Walmart GSMT:
Thank You, I got them mixed up.
