However, it does make me truly sad whenever I think about those unfortunate 1percenters who are missing out on so much simply because they were unlucky enough to be born to parents who were billionaires.
Maybe we do something nice for them like organizing a petition to get some type of tax credit for that pitiful group of fellow citizens.
I try not to demonize any group, since no group is truly homogenous. There are good and bad people in any demographic.
And I don't begrudge rich people their spoils as long as the playing field is level ( although I'm obviously aware that it isn't).
I'm for equal opportunity, not equal outcome.
As for being cheap, I do it more as a hobby than out of necessity. I love bargains and I love getting the most use out of everything I own.
And I'd rather have ten $40 phones than one $400 phone. I'm not sure why, but it's a thing with me. I like to have backup plans on top of backup plans so that I'm ready for any eventuality.
If I were a one percenter I'd still live in the same average house and drive the same average car, and I'd still have a pile of bargain cellphones, tablets and laptops.

So would I but also I would do the following.
I would take the money and divide it into 3 equal parts and set up prizes to find the best solutions to the following three problems;
what system could we create that would allow everybody in the country to have access to needed medical care regardless of ability to pay.
what system could be put in place to ensure retirees have adequate income to live in a comfortable manner.
what system could be put in place to ensure that every high school graduate is able to either complete a college education without incurring any debt or receive training to pursue a career of their choice.
The competition would be decided based on a split decision like Dancing with the Stars. Half the points would be awarded by subject area experts who would certify the solutions were technically sound and the other half by citizens who would then lobby Congress to implement them.
I only have an iphone though. Don't have more money to buy another android phone. The only android device I have is a used Nook, bought years ago for $25 - I heard that you can turn them into an android device in a few steps, but I tried for so many time and never succeeded.
A placeholder phone was used in the activation of the iphone in my family. So yes this is possible. The app resides on a separate android phone so getting a kindle fire with the app should work in the same way.
Glad to see everyone is doing well here, had to rush back to Wisconsin for for a medical emergency. Not sure what happened but the credits doubled on all our phones. Ads still seem abundant here so it wasn't just being in Texas.
You missed all the action. I hope everything is okay.
To summarize:
-Beta test is over and the new app was launched v2
-Credits now are called silver. There are gold credits worth 1000 silver but they have no use yet.
-Now talk = 20 silver, text = 3 silver, mb = 20 silver
-But everyone's silver earned to date doubled to compensate
-Roaming is a lot more expensive.
-Wider range of ads available now via the new app - the old one now worth 30 silver (ie doubled too) but there are new ones worth 10-100 silver
New survey section and new offer list (swipe left to reach these and right to reach the ads)
Store is incoming with ability to buy things with your silver - phones and other things.
So how many silver are you up to? Maybe I have caught you up since you were away!
mmfacemm, I'm still on the old app and it seems to be working fine on my note4, up to 245,000 usable credits. Have been using up the credits on my note2 because I'm still unable to add credits on that phone. Is there a good reason to use the new app. 20 credits per minute seems like a lot but credits so far haven't been hard to get. Thanks, I'm fine it was a family member.
Install the app on another Android device, generate a code in your Note2 CellNUVO account, link the other Android device to your Note2 account and you'll be able to earn credits for it without affecting the calling and texting functionality of the Note2.
Chelle, The problem is that I can't generate a code on the note2 account, only support can fix that, I think they tried to contact me while traveling but I was unable to answer at the time. I'll have to try and contact them again.
The old app v1.1 credits half what the new app v2 credits for the same ad. A coastguard ad credits 15 in the old app but 30 in the new. So there is an advantage there. But I don't know if the new app will provide the same number of ads. Also some people see a lot of 10 silver ads in the new app and those can still last 30 seconds. It is all YMMV with cellnuvo.
Looking at these staggering levels of earned credits mentioned above I have to wonder if this is not like the truly early days of the frequent flier programs when the airlines made it really easy to rack up incredible amounts fairly easy.
It was not very hard for instance to earn two free first class tickets from New York to Tokyo or something similar early on.
Pretty soon the airlines caught on and changed the rules.
mmfacemm, I think I will stick with the old app until my note2 account gets fixed and try the new app on that phone. If the store comes up with some good deals that could change my mind. 70,000 isn't that much considering everything got doubled.
To be fair only roaming and texts actually went up in real cost. A coastguard ad still gives you 1.5 minutes talk or 1.5mb data. And texts are dirt cheap anyway even after the change - still only 0.3c a text. I'm not sure why they had to double most things - was that really necessary? I hope that is it for price changes for a while. The 9000 silver add on for $10 was a positive change.
I do wish that there would be more ads. It seems like I am getting roughly the same as before even with the new ad partner.
Seems sensible. Yes I have been catching you up. I remember I was about 50k behind a week or so ago and that would have been doubled to 100k. Not that it really matters! Maybe they should have a leaderboard in the app for fun.
