Black Friday Deals (2017)

Yes---except for the fact that there is no cellular connection, but you can call using apps like Hangouts, etc., provided you have a mic and speakers connected. Most of these devices have the Play Store pre-installed just like a phone. I would suggest you read the reviews for your particular device for more info.

Woo Hooo!!!!
Check email, surf the internet! save files? create presentations?
You mean I can take this traveling, and anywhere I have access to a hdmi connection, screen and wifi connection I'm good to go??? All I need is a mouse and keyboard?
Wooo Hooo!!!! smile.

You got it. You can also insert a SD card for more storage. Many of these allow for flashing and installing a custom ROM, but do so at your own risk.

@KentE

I would suggest reading reviews for the particular device you are thinking about buying, for these devices are not always created equal, especially for $10 or so. Also, the 2GB models would be much better than the 1GB models, in my opinion.

I Just found this.
We used to have a mobile tv sat system ( without subscription) which just necessitated updating codes every now and then,
I'm wondering if there is something similar online/box nowadays? We've still got the old hardware if needed to incorporate?
does anyone know if / how it works?

I ordered a Fire Stick last night, after watching the video SuccessOne linked to. (Thanks!) It's small, and won't add too much clutter to my workbench while waiting for me to research......
It's one of those things I feel like I need, although I'm not quite sure why......

I ordered this smallish 6700mah RavPower power bank, too: $10.49, but be sure to click on "View Promotion Details" to get a set of included charging cables with it-- you won't get them unless you pick one.

When you get your Fire Stick you should skip the Kodi install and opt for Terrarium TV and Mobdro, instead.

Much more intuitive user interface and easier to use.

You can install them using the Downloader app.

Go into the Fire Stick settings and enable unknown sources in Developer Options and disable app usage data collection by Amazon in Application settings.

$180 with offers and ads sounds enticing: Prime Members: 64GB Motorola Moto G5 Plus Unlocked Smartphone

Sweet deal on the G5.

Truthfully, if I wasn't so happy with my E4, I'd jump on it.

The G5 is incrementally better in every way but the E4 more than gets the job done, for me.

Tough decisions.

My 10 year old granddaughter has the G5 phone, and I have the piddly E4---go figure. Just kidding, for I love the E4----perfect size for me.

Yes definitely download Terrarium TV and Mobdro too in addition to Kodi. Here's good youtube video showing you: - YouTube

Just bought it.

Thanks!

I personally not fee safe enough on using sensitive information even on so called vpn package, who knows they won't being hack or keeping those information. I would like to setup my own vpn or cloud server on my home router

Most sensitive information is already encrypted, like when you visit https sites for financial or social media activity.

The VPNs are mostly just for privacy and navigating around geolock restrictions.

Just wanted to mention for those who may not have heard that the "Opera" Browser offers FREE unlimited VPN, which is a pretty good deal.
However: "The Opera browser-based VPN isn't a true VPN, though; it protects only the traffic going to and from the Opera browser itself. Other applications on your computer will not be protected. However, the mobile apps are the real thing and will protect all the traffic going through your phone."

This may be a good deal for someone looking for a dual sim phone with two months, $58, worth of service with Lycra mobile. Only 1GB of RAM, but large battery.
