An even bigger problem is not having a working phone to call in the first place so maybe things are not all that bad in your case. I have decided to stop trying to get the phone to work. Could it be the case that is was already a pre-existing condition and association with RingPlus and/or CellNUVO simply rendered the symptoms more apparent?
