Ting

Ported out of ting in less than an hour to cell nuvo. No problems here with 1 1/2 months free from ting with top up. Now I love me some cellnuvo

Thanks for your kind & thoughtful reply Diedrich_Duo !!

My best guesses are that there are various factors at work at that place=> financial pressures, lots of churn & workers who are probably rather worn out with it all; I certainly do not rule out deliberate delaying tactics as well when it comes to any/all corporate entities & their bottom line...

Thanks:

Had they lived up to their original promises it was most likely that we'd have stayed with them a while, but the disappointment at seeing such a large bunch of referral credits appear, then vanishing - followed by absurdly high billing for such little usage ?? Meh.

Perhaps I should have been a bit clearer in my previous entry...?:

Mortgage nightmares - bleah - my sympathies indeed !!

Back to ting - sorry if I gave the opposite impression from what I meant somehow.
I was always 100% pleasant & mannerly with them - even when I had to keep re-asking the same questions slightly re-worded to get clear answers.
(I tend to be extra careful when any company bills me extra for...nothing.)

My wish is simply that what goes around might come back around to them, multiplied - as Karma tends to do - because IMO they certainly deserve a heaping helping of what they've dished out in return !!

Thanks Again:

Cellnuvo is just OK considering its free pricing - nothing to get too excited about though.
(I completed 450 credits worth of stuff the other day - got ZERO - emailed their support & got a useless excuse in return a day later - but the credits never appeared even though one of the activities texted me, so I was down the credits for that, which did not impress me as this is not the 1st time it has happened.)
But=>
I must say that Twigby is really great all around for our needs AND their pricing is a comfort:

Very kind of you:

A pleasure for me also, thanks !!

Just a follow up on my previous post. After 6 days of my final bill from Ting showed up without any credit. My credit card was charged with a corrected amount. $24.37 - $8.94 credit = $15.43.
Ting has been in business for years and their accounting system is still a disaster. I am sure that I am not the only one with this issue. This easy to fix system bug could eliminate thousands of unnecessary calls to their customer services.

I am glad I left ting.

I do not like the bucket idea at all. I got extra charged $6 plus $2 tax on my last month with them. I did not use their service on purpose on the last month. I got 1 call from googlevoice to verify my number. I got charged $3. Then 5 megs was $3. Then that stupid $6 a line for nothing garbage.

I was going to go to tpo. But you cant beat free with cellnuvo.

It seems as if Ting may have benefited from the Great Migration of February 2017. It gained some 19,000 customers during the second quarter.

"According to the mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), around half of the new customer additions can be attributed to former subscribers of RingPlus migrating to Ting after RingPlus discontinued its service back in February earlier this year. When RingPlus shut down a few months ago, an estimated 100,000 customers were left with no service provider, but some eventually shifted to Ting’s network."

The company also reported extremely low churn in the core customer base.

So it looks as if a significant number of our fellow RingPlus members stayed on with Ting. Of course, there is no way to know whether this reflects genuine satisfaction with the carrier or the fact that some (many?) may have had large balanced transferred and are working them down over time.

Ting GSM $9.99 sim card with $30 service credit.
I don't know if this is a bargain. but I just thought I would pass this on if anyone is interested.
Ting tri-cut GSM SIM card starter kit w/ $30 in service credits
seems like Walmart and Best Buy have it among others

Here is how I read that:
Desperate, truly evil, overpriced, failing company is showing their utter desperation openly after too many folks tried their services & found out just how BAD Ting really is !!

Yes - we took part in the post-RP flood AND mass exodus when they cheated on their promises.

We expected to stay with them at least most of a year using our transferred RP credits & the bonuses that they promised - but then they nuked all but the initial join-up credit and when the transferred credits were supposed to kick in - Ting was crying 'fraud', denied them and failed to deliver good enough services to be worthy of further payments, so:

We ported over to Twigby and have been delighted with that company ever since.

If Ting gets desperate enough to offer a FULL year of free, unlimited voice & SMS for port-ins, I'd try it again - while expecting fully for that company to go belly-up before that time had passed.
(Whilst keeping our Twigby services as-is though - no way would we be able to fully place our trust in Ting again.)

A smidgin negative about this company ??
Yep, sure ting.

Are there twiggy referrals?

I've seen some in that thread here & of course I can give you one if you'd like...

Sure

PM'd you about this.

Well, this is awkward.

6 dollar fee a month for just having a line open without using data phone or text ran me off
