Tello is your go-to provider if you want to:

You should have called them. They have excellent customer service.

And if you could not "connect" it was likely a problem with the underlying network.

Did you discover the 64kbps before or after your trip? You posted up prepaid compare so it seems you are knowledgeable about such things.

Also, this was promotional, and you apparently did it for a test drive. It seems your experience served it's purpose and you took a back up just in case which was prudent on your part.

It does not sound that Tello are advertising differently to the competition. If they were to not make equivalent claims, then they would lose revenue. You should take up your concerns about "unlimited" with regulatory authorities as appropriate.

"You should have called them. They have excellent customer service."

I did call their excellent customer service and they assured me I shouldn't be having a problem since their throttled speeds were at 512 Kbs

"And if you could not "connect" it was likely a problem with the underlying network".

My associate who was traveling with me had Mint as his provider which also uses the T-Mobile network, and he had no connection problems across the 4 states.

In the other thread, you said you go to prepay compare every morning and were therefore aware that the throttled speed is 64kbps.

You went into the trial knowing it was an unusable speed for you and you knew you would run out of full speed data.

You've made it sound like it was a big inconvenience for you but it is something you did knowingly and had another phone with you, on purpose, not luckily as you claim.

I have no idea what your motivation is for this "gotcha" towards Tello.

I've never seen or heard the faster speed mentioned for throttled data until this thread. Georgiana seems to have made an honest mistake which she cleared up quickly.

I do go to prepaidcompare daily , but till my negative experience with Tello, I never had occasion to use the site to specifically look at Tello's throttled data speed , which I did after the fact ( to compare it to the 512 Kbs number their CS gave me over the phone). When choosing to try Tello , I naively just assumed that their throttled data speed would be at least somewhat usable .

But that's not what you said earlier. You knew that the speed after the LTE data allotment ran out would not work for you, even if it were 128 kbps.

Hello Georgiana_Tello:

Has Tello management reviewed the suggestion from this topic thread , that claiming unlimited data , but then throttling data to 64Kbs is not a good thing ?
If not, when might they get back to us?
