Kite Mobile/PrepaidCompare

Good to see PrepaidCompare is now including Kite Mobile in their plans analysis. I've been using Kite Mobile free unlimited data for a while now.

Worth looking around here IMO:

Can I stream videos in Kite?
Kite isn’t designed for streaming or video playback. Websites with video may have limited functionality, and video-only platforms like Netflix or YouTube aren’t compatible.

If it could do video streaming & could be used in a tablet my partner would love it.
(As things stand she just uses our wifi massively.)

So, you can only access mobile data within their app browser, correct?
Something like Google voice (app) won't work? Any app that needs mobile data won't work?
This is strictly mobile data Internet access via their browser within their app or are their workarounds?

How's the browsing experience?

Google voice will work as a web page. I have my Google Voice open on my Chromebook browser.

Downside so far on Pixel 6a: Kite app browsing experience using Kite data is excruciating slow.

Upside so far on same phone: Data works on the few apps I tested, at the same excruciatingly slow speed. I tested Gmail, Google Voice (texting), Chrome.

Did you follow their directive to enable "connect to data services when roaming" in your phone's settings?

After enabling this setting on my 2024 Moto G Power I began receiving uninterrupted high speed data in the Kite Browser app.

If enabling the above mentioned setting works for you, there is a work around that will allow all apps to work with Kite's high speed data.

I did enable "connect to data services when roaming" in data settings. Going to speedof.me in chrome on the phone (Pixel 6a) is so slow (many minutes to load main page) that either the phone gives up, or I give up.
