Does T-mobile allow locked phones to be used on T-mobile MVNOs like TextNow? I got a cheap Alcatel Smartflip flip phone locked to ATT from eBay that I was able to use on a ATT MVNO (FreeUp). Can I do that with T-mobile/TextNow using a locked Alcatel MyFlip2 (https://ebay.us/o7Ee5I)?
No it won’t work. You need a tmobile or unlocked phone. And must be smartphone to install the textnow app.

When you say "you need a tmobile" what do you mean? I understand the "or unlocked phone" part.
I mean tmobile locked phone, it should work with its mvno also.
Been a few months, is TextNow performing any better now on TMobile? I'm still in the Sprint side and really would like to send some business to them, but not if the same issues are still there (incoming calls not ringing, disconnects).
