"I have discussed 3 of the Red CellNuvo Pocket lines that I manage on & off here (much to the reader's dismay, I imagine.)
Those 3 lines had successful refills that had expiration on or around 20180129. If you've read this far, continue reading for some observations of each line.
On line 1, close to, but just before, the expiration, I quickly used up all the data. Once used up, data usage was blocked by RedPocket, & I was invited to refill. I declined. Now, when I log on to my.redpocketmobile.com/ , status is Airtime Expired, plan is Essential Plan, and expiration date is n/a. That is not unexpected.
On line 2, I didn't get a chance to use up all the data before expiration in late January. In February, I continued to use some minutes & data. Now, when I log on to my.redpocketmobile.com/ , status is Active, plan is Essential Plan, and expiration date is 20180228. I have some data left, & it appears to be a continuation of the same allotment from January. This is unexpected.
On line 3, I didn't get a chance to use up all the data before expiration in late January. Against better judgment, & out of curiosity, I refilled a day or 2 before the expiration. Now, when I log on to my.redpocketmobile.com/ , status is Active, plan is Essential Plan, and expiration date is 20180228. I have some data left, & it appears to be the refilled allotment in February. This is not unexpected.
So, based on the line 2 experience above, I don't plan to refill lines 2 or 3 come 20180228 just to see what happens.
Thoughts? "
The results you saw on line #2 gave me hope that I might see a similar extension. My last Red Pocket/ CellNuvo line had an expiration date of 2/24. I would like to keep the line, but the $10 Essentials plan is too much plan for my needs for now. I did, however, use the phone for the last 2 weeks as my primary cellphone, and liked having it as an alternative.
My line worked on the morning of 2/24. I didn't check it on 2/25. This morning, 2/26, myredpocket shows "airtime expired", and all unit balances at 0. (On 2/24, they were each around 250 units remaining.) I still have the option to revive the line via refill.
This is a spare line for me. It's on a 'temporary' out-of-area number. If I kept the line, I'd want to be on GSM rather than the current CDMA-S, since I have other Sprint options already. Add all that to being 'too much' plan for a spare line, and it makes more sense to me to let the line expire. If I come back to Red Pocket, I'll start fresh with a local # and GSM or CDMA-V service, rather than struggling through changing both of those on this line.
Note: I have another option for using my CN Gold: I have a Sprint postpaid line, and have done 2 successful payments to that line. If I didn't have other options for using my Gold, I'd consider keeping an active RP line even as an expensive spare line. Maybe pay out-of pocket
