It is still early days with this technology and the target date for broad implementation of this voluntary standard is 2022.
Obviously, it will not be foolproof even then but it will definitely be a big plus. One way or another this is the future because it certainly is a feature of self-driving cars which is the next Big Thing. Automated systems can fail they (unless hacked) stay continuously focused on the task at hand rather than humans who drive distractedly a lot of the time.
