Walnuts to Cure One's "Food Porn" Addiction

Whatever works, I suppose. I've gotta get out more, for this is the first I"ve heard of "food porn". This article may cause people to avoid walnuts, which is too bad because they are supposed to be good for one's health.

Walnuts are a favourite of mine no matter what some study may claim !!

Studies have shown that studies produce erroneous results (false positives or false negatives) in more than 50 percent of all cases. Figuring out whether a study falls in on or other of these categories is subject to an even higher error rate.

That being said, I agree with the above post that walnuts are super (Waldorf Salad is awesome) and other nuts are pretty great as well.

They have two problems: 1) they are expensive and 2) can be addictive and have a lot of calories.

As to the idea of walnuts being an effective tool in a weight control program for large numbers of people I would have two reactions:

  1. it probably was a useful idea to get funding for a dubious research project

  2. the notion that this approach would have wide-scale application is one of the nuttiest things I have heard.

If the studies you cited is in the 50 percent that produced erroneous results, then it may mean that, generally, studies do NOT produce erroneous results in more than 50 percent of all cases. If that's true, then the studies you cited likely produced the correct results, which means that generally studies do produce erroneous results in more than 50 percent of all cases. If that's true ...
