Burt Bacharach, one of our greatest songwriters, dies aged 94.
Another giant so fondly missed and remembered.
I had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Bacharach about 18 years ago for a couple of minutes and told him how much I and my wife loved two songs of his: "I say a little prayer for you", and " The look of love".
He said that he was uncomfortable with the final version of "I say a little prayer for you" but that Hal David really liked it and prevailed by getting it released. (He wanted it slower and less orchestrated)
