Happy Finns

The annual happiness report is in and Finland overtook Norway for the top spot this year. Those darn Scandinavians are always vying for the top spot. Of course, happiness tests are mostly subjective, and I'm pretty sure that some people would not be happy anywhere, nor would some people be sad everywhere, all things being equal. I wonder if the results of this annual test would be different if they used the 1 to 10 pain scale test instead, that is, ask how painful a person's country is on a scale of 1 to 10? My wife and I just had our DNA checked and she is 4% Finnish and I am 6% Scandinavian, so maybe Finland would allow us to live there, and we'll be able to see what all this happiness stuff looks like up close and personal. We also may be able to get a good deal on some Nokia phones.

Given their longstanding #1 status, I expect the Norwegians won't take this sitting down. In fact, I'd be willing to wager that next year's contest will be a fight to the Finnish.

As long as it's a happy fight.
