I saw an interesting post on either Reddit or Howard Forums from a Beast Mobile user. When they neared the 1GB data limit, they got a courtesy text from AT&T warning them of that.
The intriguing part is that the text was from AT&T, not Beast Mobile. Since MVNOs are normally responsible for handling their own customer interactions, the implication is that Beast may be reselling AT&T business plans.
If that's so, and given Beast's recent lack of responses to customers, if/when that reseller arrangement 'goes poof', there won't be much of a viable course for a Beast customer to port their number out. I'm guessing that most, if not all, forum members who have Beast Mobile lines set them up with a disposable number.
(The possible issue is that with reseller plans, the end customer isn't the account holder: the reseller is. As far as the network is concerned, they have no business relationship with the end user-- only with the reseller--, and porting out requires that the reseller does some extra work as a middle-man to enable the port.)
I never got mine from an order placed on Oct. 26. I think it's time to call my bank and process a chargeback. Instead, I'll see if the number I would have wanted to transfer over will be fine with a Walmart-sold FreedomPop GSMT free plan.
